- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆2017-10-14, by Claire NichollsI purchased a dishwasher on Amazon from The Wright Buy on 12th March 2018 for £299 They contacted me on 13th March to say the order had been dispatched from them (I was delighted and thought this seemed very efficient). I was advised that it was a 2 day courier. By Friday 16th March the dishwasher hadn't arrived I telephoned and complained and was advised that they would contact the courier. The courier themselves rang me directly to advise that they would be delivering on Monday 19th March. I wasn't impressed at this timescale but took it on face value and decided to put up with it. I had concerns about where the item had been since the original call saying it had been dispatched on 13th. I was worried that it would be damaged if it was floating around courier depots. By 5pm Monday 19th March I was unsurprising somewhat disappointed to have still not received the dishwasher I paid for a week earlier. I rang The Wright Buy and when they provided three excuses in one go "The courier says the driver was on a two day so it might be Tuesday because he's reached maximum drive hours and there's been a fault with the lorry" I reached the end of my tether and requested that they cancel the order and refund me in full. The lady accepted the refund and advised she would tell the courier. Next day (Tuesday 20th) courier turns up to attempt delivery of the dishwasher. I rejected the delivery and advised that I had cancelled the order so they should return the item to sender. I rang today (Wednesday 21st) as I hadn't seen the refund to my card. When I got through the first girl said she would need to find out about the order. Then she said she would need to transfer the call to someone else. The second lady started the conversation by stating that she had tried to contact me via amazon because she wanted to speak to me about some reviews they had received. I didn't actually know what she was on about (as it turns out a family member had left some reviews after the debacle on Monday not that I knew this until she said) and I advised her that I had not left any reviews and was calling to find out when I would be receiving my refund. I was absolutely astonished when the lady advised that we could talk about the refund when the reviews were removed. Naturally I will be taking this further and if there's any doubt about the authenticity of this review I am happy to provide a copy of the order details from the amazon transaction and a recording of the telephone conversation with the lady. In reality they are attempting to hold my £299 as some sort of bargaining tool against leaving feedback. I think the public deserve to know what they will be dealing with if they choose to buy from this company.
